ABOUT

All my pieces are thrown individually on the potter's wheel. A minimal colour palette is used that emphasises the natural, gentle colours of the clay. I'm intent on bringing out the authentic tones and beguiling shades of the earth, sometimes surprising always beautiful. I enjoy mixing different clays and attempt to bring out a sense of the earth in all my pottery - a sense of clay's raw beginning.

The ceramic process encapsulates the notion of transformation, a certainty in our daily lives. Ever since coming to pottery it has been unequalled , for me, in it's clarity of transfiguration and renewal. Clay from the ground becomes something useful or beautiful, and sometimes both.

Whilst sharing the historic ethos of the potter's 'honourable insignificance' I embrace the untamed and capricious nature of the ceramic journey, to produce pieces that can humbly exist. Imperfections do occur and are welcomed, giving each piece a unique character. If to look into the eye of a horse is to see a reflection of yourself, then to go further into the horse's eye could be transformative :).

Thank you for your interest.
